Be a “Support” NOT a “Crutch” to your Adult Children

Julie Ahlstrom, Patty Shields, and Mary Lyn Perry

As mothers in Zion we have a lifelong responsibility to our children, even after they become adults. There are many ways that we can “step-up” our parenting and offer “support” to them without overprotecting them and causing them to rely on us too heavily. As we think about our Savior and his perfect love for us, we will strive to have that love in our relationships with our adult children. By listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and prayerfully making decisions, we can feel good about our efforts regardless of the choices our children may make.
