Making Music as a Family

Courtnie Cotterell, Brooke Button, Emily Peterson

Part of life's purpose is to experience joy. Heavenly Father taught us in D&C 136:28, that music is a great way to bring joy into the home. "If thou art merry, praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving." The home is the best place for kids to learn about music and develop their talents. Using music in the day-to-day routine creates a bond and memories that can be formed no other way. But we need to surround ourselves with good music and help those around us make uplifting and edifying choices. It's never too late to start, the time is now! Like Harold Hill said in The Music Man, "You pile up enough tomorrows and you'll find that you have nothing but a bunch of empty yesterdays."
