Receiving Blessings Never Grows Old

"Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee" (Exodus 20:12)

This is the fifth of ten commandments given through Moses to the children of Isreal, and it is the only one of the ten commandments with a promise. Honoring our parents takes on new meaning as our parents age. No longer is it about taking out the trash when they ask or meeting a 12:00 curfew, but it is about caring for their needs as they cared for ours when we were young.

The promise, "that thy days may be long upon the land" is but one blessing that comes from honoring our parents and caring for them as they age. After interviewing several church members with personal experiences of caring for aging parents, our booth will focus on the positive aspects and personal blessings these people and their families have received as a result of this service.
