All kids are different — you can’t force a square peg into a round hole. Thankfully, with flexibility, family goal setting and a little detective work, parents will find it is possible to allow creativity and diverging personal interests flourish in the home. Help your children find hobbies, skills and interests that excite them, then enable them to find ways to excel in that area. Shun labels, as they often apply to our families or children, then take notice of what excites your kids, and assist them as they pursue it. We can celebrate and facilitate our children’s interests and aptitudes, even if we as parents are unfamiliar with their interests.
