On the Lord's Errand: Serving and Teaching Children with Disabilities

When we receive callings in the church to work with children and youth, we are "on the Lord's errand" as we teach about the Gospel. (D&C 64:29) This can sometimes be an overwhelming and difficult task. But what if you were asked to teach a child with disabilities? How would you react? How would you modify lessons to meet that child's needs? How would you promote friendships within your class or group? With a little preparation, prayer, and love, working with those that have special needs can be a joyful experience for all involved. This sharing station provides practical strategies you can employ as you work with children and youth with disabilities and their families.
