Dear Sisters,

Welcome to the 2017 BYU Women’s Conference! We are happy and grateful to have you here. We appreciate the co-sponsorship and support of the Relief Society. And we hope that you will take advantage of all the uplifting and enlightening experiences that can be found at Women’s Conference.

Our theme this year comes from a number of verses in the scriptures that remind us of one of the most essential purposes of mortality—to become “Converted Unto the Lord.” As we come to understand that He is the “true light,” (John 1:9), the “bread of life” (John 6:48), and the “well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:14) and walk along His covenant path, we experience his love and grace. When our hearts and our testimonies are centered on the Savior and the reality of His Atonement, then we receive, through Him, the strength to do all things (Philippians 4:13). He is the rock, the sure foundation “whereon if men build they cannot fall.” (Helaman 5:12) Any other conversion is not secure enough or deep enough to carry us through the trials and temptations of mortality.

We hope that through the sessions of this conference you will enjoy the peace and the courage of heart that comes from being converted unto the Lord. We hope you will feel His powerful love for you and deepen your love and commitment to Him. He truly is “our joy and our song.” (Hymn 89)

We hope that you will also enjoy our many service opportunities throughout the conference, but especially on Thursday evening, a highlight of the conference experience for so many of you. And we invite you to another inspiring and entertaining concert prepared by our friends at Deseret Book later Thursday night.

We welcome you here with happy hearts and hope that you will enjoy the many features of BYU Women’s Conference 2017.
